Portrait of a Kori Bustard
Female Kori Bustard (Ardeotis kori) roaming the open range savanna in search for food. The Kori Bustard is heaviest flying bird in Africa with a weight of up to 18 kg for males and 7 kg for females, considerably smaller in size. The Kori Bustard, while not the biggest bird alive, is the largest bird with the power of flight. They take to the air with heavy, slow wingbeats and keep low to the ground when flying. Captured in Central Serengeti, Tanzania.
