Ropalidia Paper Wasps building nest
Ropalidia Paper Wasps in the process of building a stick nest. All Ropalidia species (over 200) build communal papery multi-celled nests of wood pulp and saliva, attached by stalk to plants, rocks or buildings. Paper wasps will make their nests by a process called maceration, or by chewing the fibers of wood, bark, and cloth. Captured on a walking safari near the Lemala Nanyukie camp in the Serengeti, Tanzania.
