Heading up

Profile view of a female changeable lizard (Calotes versicolor) foraging along an acacia tree trunk in Santiburi botanical garden. The distant, uncluttered background and narrow angle of view of long lens enabled me to produce a nice bokeh. These lizards can camouflage by changing colour and can move their eyes independently in different directions like chameleons. They have a sit-and-wait hunting strategy, usually watching for prey from a vantage point on a tree-trunk, but moving into the shade when it gets too hot.
