Infant lemur piggy-backing mother
Infant ring-tailed lemur (lemur catta) riding its mother's back jockey style and staring intently at photographer. Infant clings in a position which parallels body line axis, a position unlike that of other lemurs which cling across the body. The Young are raised by entire troop and may be exchanged between mothers. Infants can grasp branches by 2 weeks of age and climb trees by three weeks.
